Explain how the mythology of a particular religion affects the lifestyles of those who follow it. The primary focus of the paper should be on how the religion fulfills meaning-seeking for its culture; the paper should not be simply a description of the beliefs or practices of the religion.

Your religion of choice should be one other than your own (Buddhism by instructor permission only). Please make your case in a respectful, sympathetic way where you focus more on positive qualities and coherences rather than where you find fault with the worldview. Your paper should be 1000-1200 words in APA style.

Expository/analytical writing serves as a transition for students to develop more formal elements of academic writing: the thesis statement, topic sentences, organization, specific examples to support one’s thesis, etc. These formal elements may be expressed in one or more of the following rhetorical modes: cause and effect, process analysis, definition, position, or evaluation. The paper will be 1000-1200 words, double-spaced in 12pt font, have a clear thesis, introduction, body, and conclusion. Support your descriptions with examples and quotations using APA 6th Edition style (for both format and citations). The paper will be graded with the DOL Written Communication Grading Rubric.
