Many cybercrimes involve money and people’s private information. But there are other’s that pose a potential for real, physical harm to the target such as cyberstalking, cyberbullying and the identification and pursuit of underage children. 1) Should these crimes be punished more harshly than financial crimes because of the greater “personal” harm that is incurred? 2) Should teenagers be treated as adults when it comes to cyberbullying? 3) What about the Enron scandal, where thousands of employees lost their life savings and pensions due to fraud and white-collar crimes?
